About Tina Huntsberger

“Experience You Can Trust”

Tina brings over 20 years of dedicated service and hands-on experience at the Marion County Detention Center.

Tina began her career as a Deputy and advanced through the ranks, serving as Sergeant, Classification/Program Facilitator, Substance Abuse Program Counselor, and Classification/PREA Administrator. Her extensive background has given her a comprehensive understanding of both security operations and inmate rehabilitation — a balance crucial to effective jail leadership.

During her tenure, Tina played a key role in launching and developing several impactful programs and initiatives, including:

    •    The Booking Department, established as a separate and specialized division.

    •    REACH (Re-Entering American Communities with Hope) — now known as SOAR — a reentry initiative focused on helping individuals successfully transition back into society.

    •    The Pre-Release Program, connecting individuals nearing release with essential community resources and contacts for a smoother reintegration.

Tina’s professional qualifications reflect her commitment to excellence and continuing education. She holds certifications as a PREA Investigator, Train-the-Trainer, and Moral Recognition Therapy (MRT) Facilitator, and she was instrumental in helping the Marion County Detention Center achieve ACA (American Correctional Association) Accreditation.

She continues to stay at the forefront of best practices in corrections through ongoing professional development, having attended state jail conferences for the past decade, the Women in Corrections Conference, and the State Summit for Mental Health.

Tina is a graduate of University of Cumberlands, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Criminal Justice. Her educational foundation and decades of practical experience make her uniquely qualified to lead the Marion County Detention Center with compassion, structure, and accountability.

With her proven leadership, extensive experience, and unwavering dedication to both staff and inmate welfare, Tina Wright Huntsberger represents “Experience You Can Trust.”
